So delicious – even for those new to kombucha!
With this recipe you will make your kombucha as usual but don’t let it sit too long with the first ferment as you don’t want it to be too tart. After your initial first fermentation you will remove the SCOBY and starter liquid and add the fruit & flavouring – no need for airtight jars yet. Now you will leave your fruit & Kombucha to flavor for 12-24 hours then you will strain the fruit and bottle your delicious drink to build up carbonation.
This one is definitely worth the effort ♥
•1/2 cup chopped Pineapple
•1/4 cup Strawberries halved
•3 cm piece of fresh ginger – slivered
•3-4 dried chilies *optional*
•1 stick of cinnamon
•4 liters brewed kombucha
•Extra sugar to taste (1/4 cup)
What to do:
- Mix everything together in a 4 liter + size jar. (doesn’t need to be air tight yet.)
- Leave it to ferment for 12-24 hours
- Strain off fruit and bottle in flip top bottles or beer bottles.
- Let set for a further 24-48 hours to build up carbonation.
- Refrigerate & Enjoy!
